„The Devil Strikes Again“ ist der Titel des neuen Albums der deutschen Metal – Institution RAGE, das am 10.Juni 2016 bei Nuclear Blast erscheint.
Mit dieser Scheibe und neuem Line-Up, das neben Mastermind, Frontmann und Bassist Peter „Peavy“ Wagner aus dem gebürtigen Venezoelaner, Wahl-Belgier und Rage-Fan der ersten Stunde Marcos Rodriguez (Gitarre) und dem Deutsch-Griechen,bestem Kumpel und ex – Drumtech seines Vorgängers Chris Efthimiadis, Vassilios „Lucky“ Maniatopoulos (Drums) besteht, melden sich RAGE lautstark zurück.
Über das 22. Studioalbum der Band äußert sich Peavy folgendermaßen:
„Mit unserem neuen Album wollten wir ganz bewusst an die Energie und den Spirit unserer Klassiker Alben aus den 90ern anknüpfen. Wir fokussierten uns wieder absolut auf die Songs, hart und direkt, mit saustarken Melodien. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Marcos & Lucky funktioniert dabei extrem gut, ich war schon lange nicht mehr so inspiriert und befreit beim Songwriting und so sind einige der besten Titel entstanden, die ich mit Rage je einspielen konnte. Wir sind mehr als stolz auf dieses Album, das alle Stärken dieser Band vereint, wir brennen jetzt schon darauf, "The Devil Strikes Again" auf die Bühne zu bringen.“
Von der unglaublichen Spielfreude und Energie des neuen Line-Ups konnte man sich bereits live bei der Clubtour Ende letzten Jahres und bei der Helloween-Tour im Januar/Februar überzeugen, als RAGE ihrem Namen alle Ehre machten und das Publikum ohne Vorwarnung einfach mitrissen.
Nun liegt in „The Devil Strikes Again“ ein eindruckvolles Zeugnis von dem vor, wofür RAGE 2016 stehen und was vor sagenhaften 32 Jahren in Herne begann: Metal. Hart, laut, mit brettharter Rhythmik,großen Melodien, Chören und Stadion-Refrains, schnell und spielerisch auf Top-Niveau.
Wie meistens in der Bandgeschichte von RAGE, wurden die 10 Titel auf „The Devil Strikes Again“ von Peavy Wagner produziert. Als Co-Produzent fungierte Gitarrist Marcus Rodriuez.
Aufgenommen wurde in den Megafon Studios in Burscheid und in den Soundchaser Studios in Zandhofen, Belgien, Mix und Mastering steuerte Dan Swanö (u.a. Opeth, Marduk, Dissection) bei.Schöpfer des genialen Artworks ist Karim König, das Originalfoto stammt von Ivan K. Maras, dem Regisseur des Videoclips von „My Way“.
Wer RAGE – Outputs wie „Black In Mind“ oder „The Missing Link“ liebt, kommt an „The Devil Strikes Again“ nicht vorbei. RAGE sind zurück und das mit voller Härte!
It’s rumbling time again! RAGE is back with a vengeance!
„The Devil Strikes Again“ is the name of the new album by the German metal – institution RAGE , which will be released on June 10th, 2016 on Nuclear Blast Records.
With this record and a new line-up, consisting of the native Venezoelan, Belgian-by-choice guitarist Marcos Rodriguez and the German-Greek, ex-drum tech and best friend of his predecessor Chris Efthimiadis, Vassilios „Lucky“ Maniatopoulos on drums, along with mastermind, frontman and bass player Peter „Peavy“ Wagner , RAGE reports back – louder then ever.
Peavy elaborates on the band’s 22nd studio album:
"With our new album we wanted to deliberately build on the energy and the spirit of our classic albums from the '90s. We focussed again absolutely to the songs, hard and straight, with awesome melodies.
The collaboration with Marcos & Lucky works extremely well, it had been a long time since I was so inspired and felt so liberated during songwriting, and so some of the best tracks that I could ever record with RAGE came about. We are more than proud of this album and we can’t wait to bring „The Devil Strikes Again“ to the stage.“
The enormous enthusiasm and energy of the band’s new line – up could clearly be seen live already at the club tour late last year and on the tour with Helloween this January/February, when RAGE lived up to its name and took the audience by storm.
„The Devil Strikes Again“ is an impressive testimony of what RAGE stands for in 2016 and for what has begun incredible 32 years ago in Herne: Metal. Hard, loud, with hard rhythms, soaring melodies, huge choires, stadium choruses, fast and musically at top level.
As in most cases in the history of RAGE, the 10 tracks on "The Devil Strikes Again" were produced by Peavy Wagner. The album was co-produced by guitarist Marcus Rodriuez.
The recordings took place at Megafon Studios in Burscheid and at Soundchaser Studios in Zandhofen, Belgium, whilst the reknowned Dan Swanö (Opeth, Marduk, Dissection among others) contributed the mix and the mastering. The ingenious artwork was created by Karim König, the original photo was taken by Ivan K. Maras, who is also the director of the video clip of “My Way”.
For fans of RAGE outputs like „Black In Mind“ or „The Missing Link“ there is no way around „The Devil Strikes Again“. RAGE is back with full power!
